Here goes the May edition; here you will find a variety of information, hopefully it will be of use. Once again, I remind you that the meeting for discussion of the new Zoning Plan will held on May 15. This month we also celebrate the day of San Isidro, a day in which the communities of Escazu have an oxcart parade, of which I will remind you in the May Plus supplement , but just as a preview, San Antonio will celebrate on Sunday 16, Escazu on Sunday 23, and San Rafael and Guachipelín, my favorite, as it goes right by my house, is on Sunday, May30.This parade starts at 10 AM at the Paco/Banco de San Jose BAC/ Fischel Pharmacy, and goes up the road that leads to Multiplaza, and then continues on past the Dibartolo Restaurant, until it reaches the town of Guachipelin. Each community will have fiestas with typical foods for sell and games for the children. On the 14 of April, the first case of a person accused of poisoning a dog will be tried in court. With this new law regarding the ownership and treatment of animals, you had better be careful with the way you treat your animals or you just might end up in the Judicial Court system. According to Guisella Vico, president of the National Humane Society for Animals, if there are witnesses willing to testify, these cases can be resolved by imposing a legal fine. Because of this new law a meeting has been organized on Monday, April 13, to help explain the consequences of mistreatment of animals and the owner’s responsibilities. The famous gourmet cook Arlene Lutz, who once had a Gourmet Cooking show on local T.V. and has studied at La Varen in Paris; Cordon Bleu, London; United States, Mexico, South America, etc is a truly great cook. 25-great chicken in esCAZu A higher up executive in a well known chain of chicken restaurants, commented that he truly enjoyed this restaurant and that it was the best roast chicken that he has ever eaten. The other day, my mother and sister in law who are both good clients of this restaurant, brought home a roasted chicken and let me tell you it was really delicious. Malé is located in downtown Escazu, from the church 75 meters to the North, going against traffic. I had problems because all the members of my family loved it and next time I will hide it. Another was the Lady Finger dessert, which is delicious, with a layer of marzipan-like almond sponge and chocolate. This story I am about to tell you is true, I started to have an aching pain in my middle finger of my left hand, the same finger I use for sign language and usually in the form of an insult, after I developed a strong pain in my left shoulder, I asked Silvia to give me a rubdown with Ben Gay, nothing, I then proceeded to my sister in law’s in order to persuade her to give me a massage, I was still in pain. I called the pharmacy and they sent me muscle pain pills and still nothing. The pain was even stronger. I finally decided that it was my posture when sitting at my computer and when using the phone. I changed my computer desk and the pain still continued...Finally, alter a week of discomfort while I was picking up Esteban at a 15th year birthday at Evelyn N. Badilla , I meet up with Mrs Quizena and proceed to tell her about my ills and she immediately replied that I need to call Mercedes, the one I published in services about a year ago, she will get rid of the problem. The light bulb in my brain turned on and I immediately started to review the past editions of the Escazu News and found the note in the March 2003 issue. I called for an appointment. I arrived on May1, at her house in Los Laureles at precisely 2 P.M. I started the process which finished at 4:15... I can not explain all of this, due to the human body is very complex, and I can tell you this, THE PAIN AND DISCOMFORT IS GONE

food for needy gropups dear daniel, thank you for providing the space to share our thoughts... is there anyone out there with connections with the intercontinental/real hotel and a refrigerated truck?? i immensely enjoy the sunday brunch but it has been confirmed that all the food left over at 4pm goes into the trash. it is a tremendous waste. i would like to organize a donation system to send it to needy groups. we would need to speak with the general manager and see if there is any interest. also i understood that the marriot does donate their food after the brunch but i have not confirmed this. please write me at dmscostarica@hotmail.com or 228/4191 . diane globerman
